BAFA Women’s Football have shared their player profile for standout veteran wideout, Oli Davies.
Introducing Oli Davies, Great Britain Wide Receiver.
Years Playing: 5
Club: Hertfordshire Tornadoes & KC Titans
Claire ‘Oli’ Davies has been part of the Great Britain Women’s programme since their first international 11-a-side game against Sweden. She has once again been selected for the IFAF Women’s European Championships.
Not only has Oli made her mark on British soil over the years, but she has also balled out across the pond for the KC Titans – Oli was the first British Women’s baller to ever play over in America.
‘It’s an honour and privilege to make another squad. The sport has grown so much in the time I’ve been playing, in terms of numbers and depth of talent; and the competition to be selected has been the best I’ve experienced. I’m so excited to be part of what this squad can achieve.
I’m looking forward to the whole experience really, I love getting to be a full-time athlete and just live that life if only for a few weeks. But mostly the games. Being on the field, testing myself against the best in Europe – giving everything, and hopefully coming away with three wins!
I have prepared with a lot of training – in the gym, on the practice field, and playing out in the USA for the Titans. Definitely the best preparation I could get is playing week in week out with and against the best in the world.
My advice for new ballers is do whatever you have to do to get to where you want to be. I’ve now played four seasons for the Titans. It’s been a rollercoaster in so many ways, but just the best experience I could have hoped for both in life and football. I’ve learned so much from the experienced players and coaches out there, and from playing new positions. I just love how passionate they are about all their sports out there – particularly football, and just the way of life in Kansas City.’
